Citrine is the yellow [/smokey, /greenish, /orange] variety of the Quartz family, named after the french word for citrus, "citron". Colored by Iron. November Birthstone. Inexpensive alternative to Yellow Sapphire. Usually from Brazil.
These large, light colored stones are completely natural and unheated.
